There is just something so satisfying
Many of you know me and know I've been an traveling nurse for a long time. Just recently I gave up travel nursing for a permanent position in an operating room in Olympia, Washington.
I have to say I am more settled, happier and have less stress than I have had for a long time. I was thinking getting a pay check regularly is it, but it's mostly knowing I don't have to worry about moving again in 13 weeks or 26 weeks or more. I loved traveling, meeting new people, learning new things, yet with re-establishing a relationship with the two people I love most, it's about family, caring, loving and being yourself. |

Sabra, are you still content with your decision? Only reason I ask is because I too was a "float nurse" and after a few years miss all the spontanious excitement, though I'm sure the OR has its share of excitement as well!

Well as it turned out, I resigned from that OR position, because I couldn't hear well enough anymore and couldn't keep my patients safe. It was a very difficult decision to make. I'm no longer able to work in the OR, so I started home health, it's ok, I simply don't love it. I also started my own independent healthcare placement business, which is starting to actually make me some money. Taken almost a year to get comfortable and establish myself but it's lots of fun.

WTG ((((((((Sabra ))))))) Knew it would fall into place for you. YOU know sometimes we kinda - sorta like someone or something.... as time goes bye we begin to realize we love that/ those people/ things & what we are doing. The decision was absolutely the right one, at the right time.
