What Is Politics?

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is politics?"
Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I'm the breadwinner of the family, so let's call me capitalism. Your Mom, she's the administrator of the money, so we'll call her the Government. We're here to take care of your needs, so we'll call you the people. The nanny, we'll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we'll call him the Future. Now, think about that and see if that makes sense,"

So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what dad had said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents' room and finds his mother sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed. The next morning, the little boy says to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now."
The father says, "Good son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about."
The little boy replies, "Well, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, the Government is sound asleep, the People are being ignored and the Future is in deep poo."

Hey girls! I consider myself a democratic anarchist. By that I mean, I would do away with the political parties and just vote for people! Voting the party line has always sucked as far as I'm concerned.

Hey Sophia! And I wish it wasn't a joke. Politically, I'm a moderate, but I'm leaning left now because the Republicans have gone so whacko. I think FOX news has a lot to do with it. It's too bad because there are moderate Republicans out there that are really good people, but seem to have to take the Party line. Well, if we get to the point of President Palin, then I'm outta here!

Smile gina

I am so glad that you corrected yourself as being a democratic anarchist,. The picture of a moderate seems more becoming of the lady I think and expect you to be . I am probably a moderate of the right , which would indicate we may have some interesting exchanges .Although not a citizen of the USA , I have been in your country on four occasions , and follow politics there because of the importance of America on the world scene .

Hi again, Gina. I'm really kind of disgusted with politics here. I think that it would be nice if the politicians would do the right thing for the people as a whole and not be concerned with themselves or their party affiliation. This country should have a Health Care plan that's in line with so many other developed countries in the world! But for years all the politicians have just bickered about it. Immigration is another issue. We have to make it possible for others (specifically Latinos) to come here to do the jobs that the new generation doesn't want to do. Historically, so many of the young people would learn a trade and be good at it. Now, most of them are computer geeks. That void has to be filled and Latinos are very good workers.
Ok, that's my politics for now.

/me puts all the politicians in a rocket to the moon. Then thorws some single mothers in the office to balance budget. Then hires telamarketers to bug the contries that still owe us money. Also has some burly dudes to go get said money from the ones that can afford to pay us back but don't. Then gets a bunch of boring people telling stories to go to places where war is braking out. This way they are so boried and confused they will not attack anyone and will lay down for a nap.

I was really little when I heard that song for the first time, but since I've gotten into The Beatles, I love that song more and more! What John was saying was, take away the stuff that keeps people from being people. Because there are so many nice people in every country!
