Women Online Worldwide....
I walked into WOW on talk city 11 years ago, a scared 17 year old girl who had been raped by a "close friend" and pregnant from the attack... I felt like I had no one in my life to turn to and needed help badly. I met Jaguar, who listened to me, and helped me by showing me how to get help. I will ALWAYS be thankful to her for that...a "woman online" 1000's of miles away... As months would pass connections were made with many of the chatters. Very interesting, talented, and caring people. Every single day, no matter what time you went into the room.. a great crowd would be there having a good time. People who showed words on a screen can carry feelings and could have deep meaning and most importantly provide comfort and support. And for any newbies reading this..We needed and had support!! We've fought dead beat dads, abusive husbands, Was there for each other when having to suffer the loss of children, loss of family, horrible acts of violence..We've kicked cancer's ass and have had our worlds devistated by it too...but we pulled through it all and did it together..we had a space where women worldwide could make that happen. And I am here to thank you.. LynnesJaguar, Patti, Gotta, nobeef, MindTrvlr, Pounce, DLC, Dot and Cookie, Irish, Okie, Sabra, Speranza, Jaguar, Jetta, MZ and Cindy, Tammy, Hunk and Mo, Infinitee ( I know..shocking)...and so many..so many more..I honestly thank you all. I am happy to say that today, that lil girl from years past...Is a healthy, happy woman!! I have a wonderful healthy marriage to a man who went through every single day of it all and still loves me!!! A beautiful and bright lil girl (who was almost born in womensspace) and run my own successful business. I push for everything I need and deserve, get some of what I want and make sure to help others in the process. I am a kind person, one who thinks and is considerate to her surroundings. I am truly happy. and again I thank you because you all gave me the tools to become this way. It does take a village, I have a wonderful mother, who through W.O.W, I was able to understand and appreciate the way she deserved and I had a daddy who loved me every single day he was alive! And the few times I couldn't accept what they probably would have given me if I would have turned to them...Women...Online..Worldwide did. They gave me the love and support I needed. I love you ladies and hope each and every one of you are happy and in a good place..

(((Bx))) it's good to see you!
And we still do chat sometimes:-) In fact, I think Nana is on a mission to see how many folks she can contact I think most of us can say WOW was here when we needed it and even when we didn't, it wasn't far from our minds even though we weren't as active in chatting as we use to be. I like to think maybe we used what we learned from each other in our 3D lives to grow and help others like we were helped. You can find nobeed, hank, Candil, shana, Irish, Dance, Jag, pearl and a few others I've been told have been in lately in the chat room in the evenings. It's been nice seeing folks return to chat on occasion and being able to catch up on what life has thrown our way. It's also amazing to realize our children grew up! Those babies aren't babies anymore! |

((Bx)) I too feel that way about wow. I have even told friends that this is the place to come when it feel like life is kicking you in the teeth. Everyone here has always been willing to lend a shoulder, an ear or a pat on the back as needed. I just hope everyone can find a place like wow to turn to when they need.

Good to hear that you are doing so well
Hi bxbaby, funny how so many of us only know each other by their nicknames. It is so good to hear that things are going well, I do remember the day you came into WomensSpace, and how lost you seemed. And by chance how I was there, and able to direct you to those who could help you. I think one of them might have been someone by the name of Willendorf - I wonder where she is right now?
to you for making such a successful life for yourself. |

An Old former WOW
Back in the mid-90's I spent many hours in WOW chat rooms and even facilitated them. Don't know if any of the originals are still out there but I sure could use some online chat. Don't even know how to do it anymore but I think I can figure it out.

Kelki, if you want to chat on the Java Chat client you can click on the "Chat" link up there ^ and it'll take you into the room. You can adjust the font if you like. I tried it the other day and it works well.
If you have mIRC, there are some instructions in one of the folders on how to configure it. If you need any help, just let one of us know. It's good to see you! |

Wow, (((Bx))). Sounds like you really overcame a lot of stuff to become a really strong woman. I think that is totally fantastic. It's also a good testament to the women here who were supportive. Punchline, though, Bx, is that from the sounds of it, you rock!
